Lots of students read as much as they can, all at once, to take in as much information as possible. However, sometimes it is better to leave space to guess in your reading.
One way to do this is to cover everything after the line you are reading. When you reach the end of a line which is not the end of a sentence, try to guess what the rest of the sentence might be before you read ahead.
With this guessing work you will get a better idea about words that often appear together and also grammar patterns.
