{"id":24,"date":"2015-05-20T14:11:09","date_gmt":"2015-05-20T14:11:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/freelanceteacherselfdevelopment.wordpress.com\/?p=24"},"modified":"2015-05-20T14:11:09","modified_gmt":"2015-05-20T14:11:09","slug":"various-status-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/getgreatenglish.com\/ftsd\/2015\/05\/20\/various-status-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Various: Status Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a title=\"Classroom Research\" href=\"https:\/\/freelanceteacherselfdevelopment.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/07\/classroom-research\/\">action research<\/a> I started is in full swing and the independent study that students were asked to undertake was done by around 80% students in both the sample classes, although some students changed their independent study methods from video to songs and nobody read at all.<br \/>\nI did the <a title=\"Authentic Listening Material\" href=\"https:\/\/freelanceteacherselfdevelopment.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/17\/authentic-listening-material\/\">listening<\/a> with my false beginner class today and they really enjoyed it although they found it difficult.<br \/>\nI participated in <a title=\"KELTChat Slowburn: Participation\" href=\"https:\/\/keltchat.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/17\/keltchat-slowburn-participation-what-is-it-and-how-should-we-measure-it-19th-may-2015-11am-7pm-kst\/\" target=\"_blank\">my second ever #KELTchat on Twitter<\/a> and it was very informative, especially for my university classes.<br \/>\nOther than that, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%40getgreatenglish%20OR%20%40hughdellar%20OR%20%40rosemerebard%20OR%20%40patjack67%20OR%20%40LauraSoracco%20OR%20%40josipa74%20OR%20%40muranava%20since%3A2015-05-19%20until%3A2015-05-20&amp;\" title=\"Twitter on fire\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter was on fire this morning<\/a> due to my previous <del>moaning<\/del> <del>arguing<\/del> moaning about how <del>rubbish<\/del> <del>bland<\/del> coursebooks don&#8217;t meet student needs but teachers are forced into using them anyway.<br \/>\nI have bad news in that a language school I just started working for is being bought. The new owner seems nice but I do feel uneasy in my work. Conversely, I had an interview with another agency that teaches a lot of IELTS courses.
